Paris: The “Mondrian Revolution”
Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris, 5 Avenue Marceau, 75116 Paris, France
The Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris never lets you down, exquisite fashion displays filled with technique, skill and total master ship that never grows old
This special and unique collection of over fifty haute couture designs is based on the 1960s Mondrian inspired era that was fun, funky and classy all at the same time and well worth a visit.
This new exhibition shares two of Yves Saint Laurent’s major creations” his famous Mondrian dresses from the autumn-winter collection of 1965 and his beautiful gowns made in collaboration with the artist Claude Lalanne from autumn-winter 1969”.
“Dresses that changed the relationship between fashion and art by transforming a painting into an animate work of art” this beautiful collection displayed in the one-time wonderful home and studio of Yves, examines the legacy beyond the history of fashion, hence the exhibition title, the Mondrian Revolution which is how the press described this collection when it was originally released in1965.
These iconic pieces are now instantly recognisable and an ingrained part of our popular culture
If you love art and you love fashion then you get two for the price of one!
This wonderfully bright, fun and exciting exhibition will brighten your day and runs until 5th January 2020.
