Swinging London: A Lifestyle Revolution / Terence Conran – Mary Quant

Fashion and Textile Museum, 83 Bermondsey Street, London SE1 3XF

A fabulous collection of artefacts covering all things sixties, in relation to fashion, design, architectures, photography and art, aiming to modernise and challenge the stuffy, post war, grey establishment, pre-sixties, bringing London ‘swinging’ into a youthful, more modern and colourful 20th century future.

Mary Quant and Terence Conran were the fore-runners of what they called the Chelsea set and a major influence on the fashion and design movement in London at that time (which continues on today). Feast your eyes on original Iconic fashion garments, ground breaking textiles, funky furniture, contemporary (for the time) lighting & homewares and classic ceramics that ca be from no other era.

It’s fun, its funky and it’s all things 60’s, featuring some classis original pieces from this ‘much talked about’ slice of London life.

Exhibition on until 2nd June 2019
