Azzedine Alaïa: The Couturier - Design Museum

224-238 Kensington High Street, Kensington, London W8 6AG

Words can’t describe this exquisite collection of the most beautiful couture dresses created by the amazingly talented Tunisian-born couturier Azzedine Alaïa, alas who is no longer with us but his legacy lives on.

The exhibition follows his journey from to couturier from the very beginning and highlights pieces he created over a 50 year plus career.

Apparently Alaïa personally constructed each garment by hand and offered up stunning creations to likes of Greta Garbo, Grace Jones, Michelle Obama and even Rihanna.

“The show features personally selected garments, ranging from the rare to the iconic and spanning the early 1980s to his most recent collection in 2017”.

The workmanship of his work is second to none, so be prepared for gasps and wows as you glide from one piece to another, effortlessly, the words, outstanding, exquisite, genius and breath-taking are an underestimation of his work and the sad loss of this Iconic fashion genius and trail-blazing designer is great. A true great recognised as one should be.

IF…. rates this exhibition as a must see.

Please note the exhibition ends on 7th October 2018
