White Cube - Gilbert & George: The Beard Pictures and Their Fuckosophy
144-152 Bermondsey Street, London SE1 3TQ
Quirky, fascinating and quite frankly cute, Gilbert & George’s new show is split into two distinct sections
One section ‘Fuckosophy’ (there’s a clue in the title!) will have you giggling like a big kid, although it’s debatable you would let your kid anywhere near this explicit collection of hundreds of swear words (so be warned) and the other ‘The Beard Pictures’ is a themed collection of pictures that are vast, colourful, loud, very contemporary and typical G&G, controversial.
Beard is a cool collection of art works, constructed in sections of multi-panels and what looks like stained-glass window panes with references to both good and bad dreams.
The whole collection will definitely have you thinking, which is a good thing, right! (just don’t have nightmares). Whether you are or you’re not a fan of G&G, this fabulous collection is an intrusion on your senses, which in my book, it surely a thing of joy.
This fabulous (and in your face) exhibition continues until 28 January 2018
