Tate Britain – Rachel Whiteread
Millbank, Westminster, London SW1P 4RG
Another modern and contemporary British artist shares her fascinating and intriguing collection of sculpture and space at the Tate Britain. Oversized casts made using her extensive imagination, industrial materials, glass and sheer skill will grab your attention, whether you like it or not.
A Londoner and apparently the first woman to win the Turner Prize in 1993, Rachel’s vast collection is large, extensive and its out there, taking everyday objects, immense or humble and casts them in cement, exactly how they are, making it very difficult to tell them apart
Fans will already know some of Rachel’s work immediately but for those that don’t, be prepared to exhale, its varied, its big and its clever.
If you can, see the exhibition before it closes on 21st January 2018.
