Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art
Strandpromenaden 2, 0252 Oslo, Norway
A privately owned contemporary art gallery right in the heart of Oslo that opened in 1993 exhibiting around 6-7 temporary exhibitions each year, proving there’s always something new to see in town.
Featuring various pieces from American appropriation artists from the 1980s to the more recent international contemporary artists such as Koons, Sherman and Prince and currently, it’s the first Scandinavia museum to present a solo exhibition of the world-famous Japanese artist Takashi Murakami (b. 1962, Tokyo) Murakami by Murakami.
The Murakami by Murakami exhibition features a selection of the Japanese artists artwork pieces and sculptures from his creative and inspiring Japanese mind. Visual artistry, ceramics, painted scrolls, pop art, film, activist art and paintings all feature in this magnificent. Provocative and interesting visual show.
This exhibition runs between 10th February 2017 – 14th May 2017 and is well worth a visit if you are in town
