A great gallery space set over two floors, with its own design and book shop, in a great location as part of the regenerated Albert dock and the only gallery dedicated to photography and related media in the North West of England
The Independent (not-for-profit) Open Eye Gallery (Founded in 1977) shares its photography exhibitions with those who connect with the genre, reflecting areas such as life, humanity and passion.
Its current exhibition; North: Identity, Photography, Fashion, explores the way Northern England celebrates and portrays local art and fashion from past to present, using various mediums from film, magazine, garments and sculpture.
A place to watch locally made documentaries and short films, experience its permanent Archive of photographs from the 1930s to the present day and take in some of the creative talents from across this part of the country.
