Andy Warhol at the Ashmolean
Ashmolean Museum, Beaumont St, Oxford, OX1 2PH
First showing in public of this interesting private collection (the Hall Collection, USA) of Andy Warhol Images (1928–1987).
A great and varied collection of Warhols slightly lesser well-known works. The exhibition features more than a hundred pieces and short films from the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, USA.
We found it could easily be done in about an hour and a half, leaving additional time to browse the dedicated Warhol Pop up Shop, adjacent to the exhibition. Containing works that spanned Warhol’s interpretation of the 1960s Pop pioneer to the experimental works of his last decade. with the entire show being curated interestingly by Sir Norman Rosenthal.
Fabulous (we loved it!)
