Emile -London

26 Curtain Rd, Hackney, London EC2A 3NY

The venue, which was originally the wonderful Swedish restaurant known as Rök, has now been taken over by Emile and continues to offer top quality produce and affordable prices and does not disappoint.

Apparently a long-term pop up brought to us by the original chefs from Petersham Nurseries and the Drapers Arms and all decked out in a beautiful warming deep blue colour palette, accompanied by warm wooden floors and chunky oversized wooden tables adorned with lovely vintage candlesticks making the interiors feel classy, understated and welcoming.

With a UK meets Europe feeling menu, the food choices were very welcomed, from the delicious home-made bread, the Lincolnshire poacher croquettes, the pan-fried fish, the succulent and mouth-watering Venison Steaks to the exquisite panna cotta & Madagascan vanilla ice cream dessert.

Oh and the wine was very good too, covering a reasonable price range for all wallets.

Pop down whilst it’s still there, we thoroughly enjoyed the space, the food and the service, we would certainly go back! Enjoy.
