London – Mr Bao

293 Rye Lane, Peckham, London SE15 4UA

A brilliant little find in South East London specialising in deliciously filled Taiwanese bao buns (puffed up glistening white steamed buns filled to the brim with goodies).

This pint-sized restaurant buzzes with atmosphere, the staff are fun and attentive, and the food options are nicely varied (5 different savoury bun fillings to try out) and all affordable and delicious (the prawn, crab and shiitake mushroom options were all excellent) and if you want to feast on even more buns, there’s sweetened bao buns for dessert too.

Interiors wise, there’s designer pedant bulb lighting, stripped back wooden tables and lots of appropriate artefacts from Taiwan scattered around the space, there’s even an Asian-only beer policy! and why not!

If you like a kiss of wasabi mayo or kimchi with your dinner (or lunch) then head down to Mr Bao’s, you won’t be disappointed, it delivers what it says it will, delicious, tasty buns.

A must visit when in SE London, www.ificould.co.uk loved this place.
