London: Maremma Brixton
36 Brixton Water Lane, Brixton, London SW2 1PE
Maremma has finally opened its doors in Brixton, bringing a little slice of Tuscany to South London and situated in the former Montego Inn restaurant a famous and long standing landmark from Brixton days gone by.
Decorated and styled in the classic colours of the Tuscan Maremma region with simple stripped back décor, cosy lighting and beautiful terracotta tomes, the life-size sketch of an Italian wild “cinghiale” boar is pretty impressive too! adding a little uniqueness to the comfy and popular restaurant.
The relatively small dining space upstairs, is just enough to make it feel cosy and atmospheric and the food from this famous Tuscan region tops it all off, offering dishes such as their delicious wild boar prosciutto or spinach and ricotta tortellini that sits perfectly accompanied by their inclusive cocktails or aperitives and extensive and personally recommended Italian wine choices, available by glass, carafe, or bottle.
This place is relatively new, so book early, its popular and rightly so, great food and buzzy atmosphere and the prices aren’t too bad either, fabulous.
