Elephant and Castle Pub

119 Newington Causeway, London SE1 6BN

This retro styled cosy little pub, also know as the "EC" with a small outdoor space is a revamped drinking spot situated on the ground floor of a listed 1966 apartment building.

It's also well known for playing its part as the prequel and the after-party venue for the internationally recognised Ministry of Sound night club (which is literally just a stone’s throw away) and where it is alleged the UK garage & dance scene was created.

It’s currently full of trendy young-things (mostly from UAL: University of the Arts, right opposite) who all seem up for a really good time but without being pretentious in any way. There is a great buzzy and friendly vibe, plenty of seating areas both in and out doors and there is a great booze and spirits selection, there’s even decent bar snacks, should you wish to line your stomach!

Great little boozer to get you in the mood!
