The Lalit London
181 Tooley Street, London SE1 2JR
Previously a traditional 180 year old British Grammar School (St. Olave’s) and now a Grade II-listed Luxury Hotel set in a perfect location right on the edge of the river Thames at Bermondsey, Tower Bridge.
After a major refurbishment that went well, this lovely hotel offers a large dramatic Great Hall restaurant (which was previously the old Schools Assembly Hall, so think big!) and a wonderful cosy & contemporary Governors’ Cocktail bar and if you want to stay over, then there are 70 uniquely decorated rooms to choose from, keeping an element of the old School close by.
Think Britain meets the Raj and you have got it, with lots of old original wooden panels, vaulted ceilings and red brick facades all adorned with traditional Indian fabrics and traditional Indian artefacts.
The service was perfect, the setting was grand but cosy and the cocktails were delicious! Cool & Contemporary and a great place to grab a classy drink and have a good old catch up.
