42 Crawford Street, Marylebone, London W1H 1JW

Cool local neighbourhood restaurant (Marylebone) with a relaxed atmosphere and really good food. It feels casual and not stuffy at all, making for a comfortable laid back atmosphere.

Dishes look simple but a lot of prep and flavour have gone into them, with freshness and seasonality as priorities.

With its buzzy open kitchen and butcher’s counter, you will see everything being prepared fresh, including their wide selection of beautiful hand reared cuts of meat.

The concept of ‘twist’ is tapas but not as you know it, there’s South America ceviche, Japanese dishes such as scallops and Mediterranean fayre such as pig’s cheeks and grilled octopus.

It was fascinating to watch the giant oversized steaks being charcoaled on the Josper grill and the Moroccan-style lamb chops sizzling away, all offering that oversized wow-factor!

Dessert looked good too (we didn’t participate, no more room) but the grilled pineapple with coconut milk and chocolate flakes sounded amazing.

With really attentive waiting staff, that were more than happy to run through what was available, our experience at twist was excellent and IF would have now qualms about recommending a visit there, but make sure you reserve a table, it was full, both upstairs and downstairs on our visit.
