Upstairs at The Department Store

Entrance on Stockwell Avenue, London, SW9 8BQ

Michelin rated (Bib Gourmand) Upstairs is the ‘private part’ of this relatively new and beautifully crafted Brixton complex ‘the department store’ comprising of a stylish and cool restaurant, a very buzzy bar, architect offices and work spaces, an art gallery and the private members club, contributing nicely to Brixton’s ever developing and expanding quality restaurant and bar scene.

Offering exquisite Anglo-French cuisine with a menu that changes every two weeks, apparently, its beautifully designed, cool & quirky and will have you wanting to return, time after time.

The very large open plan roof top space is unofficially split into four sections, a private dining room with a beautiful green glass turret, a long bar area, a very relaxing lounge area with open fireplace, and a low key & compact dining section, so thankfully there is something for everyone.

Aimed at a slightly more professional clientele, this luxurious private members area is just what Brixton needed to set it apart from all of the (many) existing funky, loud and fun bars and clubs already established, so Its different, its lower key, its classy and overall it’s a wonderful additional adding something a little different.

And if that wasn’t enough, there is even a huge and spacious roof terrace with amazing panoramic views across the whole of London!

You may feel like you’re in Paris, New York but your not, happily you’re in London but wherever you feel like you are, you will love this chic, classy and elegant space, that so far has never been that busy (thankfully) but just busy enough to create a really lovely atmosphere,

IF… mark this out as a hit, if you can get a member to take you in, you really won’t be disappointed and a must if you’re socialising in Brixton Town.

Please note this is a ‘Private members’ (and their guests) only bar you will need a memebership for entry.
