Montcalm Royal London House, 22-25 Finsbury Square, London EC2A 1DX

Slightly tricky to find but worth it when you do. This sky-high restaurant and terrace bar is perched on top of the 10th floor of the new Montcalm Royal London House Hotel in Finsbury Square, the views over the city are spectacular, just head towards the City and Shoreditch, look up and there you will find it.

There’s an impressive and attractive central bar, a stylish buzzy restaurant and an opulent and luxurious bar-lounge all on offer. The said aviary hangs above your head as you enter the space and sets the scene for this contemporary, fun and attractive space that covers a large footprint but retains its intimacy.

We went for the ‘very sunny’ (at the time) south facing botanic themed roof terrace, serving wonderful and delicious cocktails, comprehensive wine choices and a refreshing beer list (they even do points!) all served from its own outdoor bar area with comfortable out door lounge seating looking out over some of London’s impressive and iconic buildings.

The sweeping views over the city’s skyline are more than impressive, its open 7 days a week and its definitely worth a visit if you like a cocktail with a view.
