Mac and Wild

65 Great Titchfield Street, Fitzrovia, London W1W 7PS

A cosy Fitzrovia newcomer offering fantastic Scottish fayre.

We started with a selection of starters (Wee plates) Duck egg, truffle and wild mushrooms,  beautiful Scottish salmon with beetroot and fish bites (deliciously fresh breaded fish bites with a gorgeous homemade tartare sauce ) followed by the most amazingly tender piece of Venison Steak (cooked to perfection) served with light & crispy fries, this dish was outstanding and one word describes the ‘veni-moo’ burger (a combination of beef and wild venison patties, cheese, béarnaise and caramelised onions & voted London’s ‘best burger’ 2016) Stunning, packed full of flavour leaving you stuffed to the gills!

With the meat apparently coming directly from a Scottish estate and highland hunters you can tell you are getting really good quality here. There’s a selection of Scottish staples available here too, such as rabbit, haggis and haggis mac and cheese and the ‘whisky’ sticky toffee pudding and broke millionaire's shortbread was orgasmic!

With over 100 varieties of whisky and a selection of Mac & Wild's very own Scottish cocktails and whiskies to matched every dish, you will be spoilt for choice, just be careful how many you try! But don’t worry, no one is counting!

The interior is simple but cool, definitely offering a Scottish vibe, with deer hides and antlers dotted about and butcher’s hooks all over, chunky wooden tables (apparently hewn from trees felled on the family estate) and a buzz in the air.

We loved this place, the ambience and atmosphere were great, both our waitresses were fully attentive, very smiley and chatty and were a major part of making our visit such fun, thanks girls, we will be back for sure, cant wait!
