Fox Bar – Brixton

Piano House, 9 Brighton Terrace, Brixton, SW9 8DJ

Situated right in the heart of central Brixton, this brand new addition (opened less than a week ago) is perfectly placed and tucked away for that more intimate feel. If there were ‘still’ any doubts that Brixton had already been gentrified, then this is the final confirmation! Part of the Central London & International Soho House Group, Fox Bar is just part of a three pronged takeover (Fox Bar, Dirty Burger & Chicken Shop) of what used to be one of Brixton’s premier gay clubs; SSS (Sub Station South).

Placed across the whole basement area of a large an imposing Victorian Warehouse built in 1877, this place is large 75% restaurant, 25% bar. Fox Bar has a really cool and relaxed vibe (it feels like sitting in a 1930s train carriage, a perfect vibe to sip on those classic (and not so classic) delicious cocktail combinations, whilst all the while being watched over by the fox in the Gucci sunglasses from behind the bar.

An Intimate and low lit space offering a seating for approximately 30 people, keeping the vibe more ‘speakeasy’ than ‘shout loudly’.

There drinks menu was awash with plenty of bourbon, whiskeys and rum drinks but don’t despair if that’s not your thing, there were plenty of other choice including beer on draft!

A must is the FOX BAR’s ‘Nitro Martini’, an espresso martinis that’s available on tap, delicious and no longer need  to get stuck behind the cocktail round when you only want a beer!!!

If you start to get peckish after all of those delicious cocktails, then do not fear, just walk through the double doors and the side of the bar and hey presto, Dirty Burger and Chicken Shop are at your beck and call, or just stay put and nibble on a portion of chicken nuggets or fries, without even leaving your cosy bar seat. Worth a visit at any time of the night or day.
