The Sun and 13 Cantons
21 Great Pulteney St, London W1F 9NG
The Sun and 13 Cantons is a Grade II listed public house at 20 Great Pulteney Street, Soho, London W1.
A lot quieter than it used to be back in the day (in a really good way) Apparently the pub, takes its name from a Swiss woollen merchants, which used to be based nearby and has sat on this same site since at least 1756 and the present building dates back to 1882 and was designed by Henry Cotton.
A great pub set in central Soho, it’s true what they say, it has an air of the Parisian influence about it, with a charming bar to one side a reasonably sized restaurant area to the other, they even host DJs nights in the basement bar at weekends.
The Sun & 13 Cantons is a perfect place to relax and have a drink or have dinner from their Thai style kitchen menu at reasonable prices (we didn’t eat but the food sure looked good)
In the summer months al fresco eating and drinking is available but get there early if you want to do this, its gets mega-packed in the summer but winter is relaxed and chilled.
