We were invited to the opening night of this brand new SoHo restaurant from Martin Morales (Ceviche and Andina) before it actually opened to the public, we were their Guinee pigs but we didn’t mind ‘at all’. Serving up the freshest of fresh Peruvian delights, this cute little venue sits perfectly in its new SOHO home.
Casita Andina serves traditional food of the Andes, and is apparently inspired by Morales’s grandmother, who actually still lives on the mountain range.
The food consist of a selection of traditional nibbles (Cancha nuts, fritters, Croquetas) Ceviche & Raw Bar (fish, prawns, vegetables, fruit, tigers milk) a selection from the Hot Kitchen (Pork, Lamb, Chicken, Salmon, King Prawn, Skate) and a choice of three desserts, but If you’re going to have a dessert, then why not go for the Choco-Sauco. A Perfect Peruvian Alto El Sol Chocolate Ball containing elderberry gel and surrounded with chocolate crumble, oh! and there’s a cheeky little surprise in store when you pop it into your mouth! Delicious.
Great venue (that looks like a traditional Andes house) with lovely Peruvian art on the walls and staff who were tripping over themselves to help, it even has a ‘tiny’ outdoor roof terrace if you’re lucky enough to get that table.
