16 Great Guildford St, London SE1 0HS

Hixter Bankside (little sister to Tramshed in Shoreditch, HiX in Mayfair and Pharmacy 2 in Vauxhall, amongst others) so we ‘just had to’ try it!

The design of this place is simple (on purpose) clean cut and very well thought out, featuring lovely and original art pieces scattered all around (including the very cheeky wall paper in the toiles downstairs that you just have to see!)

The styling tips its hat to what was once a metal box factory we believe. On the ground floor there is a separate bar area, immediately you walk, so you don’t have to eat, if you just fancy a beer or a  cocktail and there is a restaurant area at the back, if you fancy sharing one of their famous barn reared Indian Rock Chickens mounted on  spike and served on  a bed of fries! (There are other options but ‘my’ was that good!) The Chicken is served whole (Claws and all!) rubbed in Indian spices and served with a homemade style chicken gravy, you WONT be disappointed if this is your bag!

The ‘excessive’ Rib Steak aged in a Himalayan salt Chamber, was very impressive too. Don’t get disheartened if you’re a veggie or vegan, there was a comprehensive menu for you guys too. We have to give the salt ‘n’ vinegar onion rings a shout out too; they were out of this world!!! So something for everyone here!

Hixter Restaurant got a lovely floor to ceiling windows and metal and brick-work also add to its fresh and simplistic feel. The atmosphere upstairs (in the restaurant) is bright and buzzy, with the atmoshere down stairs (in the super cool Marks Bar) creates a much more relaxed, darker, chilled and cosy feel and even offers bar billiards, so if you want to hang out after dinner, your all set.
