Oldroyd

344 Upper St, London N1 0PD

Owned by Tom Oldroyd (former chef of the Polpo Group) and located in the very vibrant and colourful upper street (Angel) just off Camden Passage, this great little place is a find! A very competitive area for restaurants in this neighbourhood, so you need to stand out and Oldroyd certainly does that.

The place is TINY (but in a good way) creating a very cosy and intimate feel, almost like having dinner round a friends (a very nice friend). A good selection of quality small European plates are on offer, all with locally sourced ingredients and here’s the best bit! All at modest prices too, so go ahead, start sharing.

Our favourites were the delicious ox cheek and of course the grilled octopus (Pulpo) and the squid ink risotto was amazing! It’s all just fabulous and all made to perfection in the tiny little kitchen tucked away on the ground floor.

If you fancy an intimate dinner by candle light, cozied up together whilst eating really good food, you could do worse than Oakroyd, in a word it’s all very charming.

Fabulous (we loved it)
