Chiltern Firehouse

1 Chiltern St, London W1U 7PA

This grade 2 building of the former Marylebone Fire Station is just a few minutes from Baker street station or Marylebone Station and situated in the middle of the village like Marylebone, this stylish restaurant, cafe, bar and outdoors space is the place to be seen. Currently popular with celebs (until they move onto the next place!) it attracts a more affluent crowd, swilling down Champagne and happily eating the assorted canapes before dinner in open seating area.

We prefer the more relaxed bar and lounge area (the garden room) away from the restaurant, housed in what feels like a lovely light and airy conservatory with hanging plants and a lovely view out onto the garden/terrace.

Michelin-starred chef Nuno Mendes serves up an ever changing menu with an emphasis on seasonality and healthy eating.

We came here to celebrate my Mums special birthday (F) which was heralded as a great success! We had the perfect afternoon tea and nibbles in the garden room (pictured) a very stylised and cosy room with a lovely open fire place, cool furniture and high ceilings with huge plants hanging overhead. The service was great and we are already planning our next visit.

 Fabulous (we loved it)
