Paris - Le Colimaçon

44 Rue Vieille du Temple, 75004 Paris, France

Cosy, warm, local and authentically Parisian. This supercute French restaurant is happy to deliver all things French from Beef Tartare to Snails (with a twist).

This small but perfectly formed neighbourhood bistro, will have you feeling right at home within minutes of taking your seat, buzzy, friendly and popular (so please book ahead).

Le Colimaçon has personality and charm in heaps, and the fact that it is situated amongst the gorgeous little lanes and old stones of the Marais, doesn’t do it an injustice either.

Interiors are apparently unchanged from times gone by, with its terracotta floor tiles, exposed wooden beams, rough inscribed walls and a small spiral staircase leading up to its only other floor above.

The cuisine was mostly traditional bistro food with a few updated twists, great portions sizes and with a homely feel to the presentation, with no airs and graces just good quality food doing the trick.

The small specials blackboard, we were told, changes daily, so keep your eyes peeled but the regular menu held some great classics and some modern addition, such as foie gras, escargot, duck breast with pears and honey, whole stuffed sea bass and rib steak with marrow bone.

The desserts were irresistible too, we went for the house chocolate mousse with Tanzania cocoa bean and there’s no other word other than outstanding.

An amazing little gem, waiting for you to pop in, with www.ificould.co.uk confirming they would definitely eat here again.
