Paris: East Mamma
133 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, 75011 Paris, France
One of a few ‘Big Mamma group’ trendy pizza restaurants, dotted across the French Capital that literally has the Parisians queuing out of the door (and now we know why, divine!)
A neighbourhood favourite Italian trattoria serving marvellously authentic Neapolitan style pizza (both white and red base) that area hard act to follow.
There’s a very casual ‘no-reservations policy’ so get there early! (there are a few bar stools though, if you don’t mind that as an alternative) But when you get your table, you will soon know what the fuss is about. The Pizza’s and the classic desserts with a twist! (panna cotta with a splash of Grappa, tiramisu ‘made with lemon) were good, very good and the super- friendly (mostly Italian staff) will make you feel welcome, give great recommendations and look after you for the whole night
Their cocktails were great too, we went for the citron inspired Spritzer (sparkling white wine, seltzer, Campari, Lemon/Lime) and the traditional Italian antipasti (San Daniele prosciutto, creamy burrata and fresh ricotta di buffalo served with honey and bresaola) whilst we waited on our pizza, definitely did the trick too.
With an ingredients and wine list that’s all imported directly from Italy, you can’t say it’s not ‘real’ Italian, a nice touch that adds to the authenticity and realness of this great Pizza hang out.
If you love authentic Italian pizza and desserts, then this place is a must for you! Fabulous!
