R. da Madeira 222, 4000-069 Porto, Portugal
Now our favourite restaurant in Porto, they just couldn’t put a foot wrong, every dish was exquisite and we didn’t want to leave! Really stunning dishes served by equally amazing wait staff, the dishes just kept coming and coming, each one better that the last and we weren’t going to ask them to stop!
Tapabento (Restaurant & Tapas Bar) is located down a small side road directly adjacent to Portos main (and beautiful I hasten to add) central railway station, Sao Bento.
Full every day & night, expect to que but it is sooo worth it! There is a small eating room & bar stools area downstairs with the upper space offering larger tables for bigger parties. Furnished in a traditional Portuguese style, it’s not going for cutting edge contemporary style, its going more for food and everything about it.
The food choices were perfect, the plates were generous and the food was sensational, with over a dozen appetizer choices, numerous main courses, and over 15 individual tapas choices you will want them all, and that even before you have seen the dessert menu!. We went for the fresh oysters which were just crazy out of this world, the best ever fresh ceviche tuna steak, melt in the mouth exquisite, the (K Thai fish and seafood curry (King prawns mussels, oysters, polpo clams, razors,& shrimp) with jasmine rice was to die for and the dessert just kept giving! In total 150 out of 100% and that being mean!!
If at first you can’t get in, please do try again, you will regret it if you don’t and you will remember it for years to come if you do
