A Cevicheria

R. Dom Pedro V 129, 1250-096 Lisboa, Portugal

Overwhelmed by the ‘gigantic’ and ‘fabulous’ life sized sponge model octopus hanging from the centre of ceiling over the bar in this super cool and collected restaurant, you just know you’re in for a good time, instantly.

This stunningly simple and chic restaurant with beautiful Portuguese floor tiles, specialises in top quality dishes that definitely give you the wow factor, not only does it specialise in beautiful Peruvian inspired ceviche seafood dishes made from fresh raw fish, there’s alternative too, such as Tacos and delicious contemporary Mini surf & turf burgers (Sandes).

We started with the super strong but delicious Pisco Sour (a must!) that completely set the scene, then there’s either a choice of a set 6 course menu or you can just order the dishes you fancy straight  from the menu (which is what we did) we opted for the semolina bread with seaweed, BBG Octopus, the tacos, mini burgers and the mixed Cusa Mista (a combination of little bite sized explosions of raw tuna, scallop and sliced Lobster on a mashed potato base that just melted in the mouth) the dessert choice was hard (even though there were only three) but luckily we opted for the Citronella E Morangos, just sublime!

Situated in a cool hip area of town (the Príncipe Real neighbourhood) this is a hot off the press restaurant, that really won’t disappoint, tables are hard to get, so go early or just take your chance (you can’t book) but if you do get in, believe me, you WILL NOT be disappointed, we would go back in the flash of a tentacle!
