Mar ao Carmo

Largo do Carmo 21, 1200-092 Lisboa, Portugal

Mar ao Carmo is located in a beautiful, interesting and tranquil tree lined square, right in the heart of the up market area of Chiado, called The Largo do Carmo.

This lovely and stylish seafood restaurant has both indoors and outdoors seating, so you are able to choose your preference based entirely on the weather, we were lucky, it was a beautiful sunny day when we arrived, so we got to eat our lunch out in the open air of this very pretty little square, full of life and atmosphere.

Attractive, modern, elegant and decorated in calm relaxing neutrals and with a an array of unusual and contemporary Tom Dixon lighting all creating an ambience of comfort and relaxation, one where you can enjoy the full delights of the amazing seafood that’s on offer. (you can even pick exactly what you want from the large aquarium tank holding live lobsters and crabs or the crushed ice table offering fresh tuna, salmon & sea bass or Clams, oysters & prawns, among many other wild & wonderful seafood specimens).

Always offering the freshest of fish and seafood and the best of service (our waiters were both lovely) you’re in for a treat, but if you don’t fancy seafood they also do fabulous quality steaks, enormous fresh salads and top of the range chunky sandwich choices.
