Nybrogatan 38, 114 40 Stockholm, Sweden
Just having celebrated 6 successful years (on the night we dined) serving exquisite, minimalist and super modernised dishes, we think Nybrogatan 38 is here to stay or at the very least, we hope it’s here to stay!
Situated In the upmarket part of town called Ostermalm, the restaurant consists of both bar and separate restaurant areas. The bar area is a good size to party or just relax for a few beers whilst the in-house DJ does his thing (thankfully 1970s Soul disco was the theme the night we attended) and the restaurant, feels very cosy, very local and very welcoming, or was that the restaurant staff, either way it just was!
Twinkling candles on all of tables, oversized contemporary posters adorning the walls and the super-efficient service all made the experience a comfortable, enjoyable and very satisfying evening.
A workable, interesting and affordable menu did not disappoint, such as hearty portions of sticky and spicy jerk chicken, deep fried crunchy camembert, a variation of lamb (3 cuts) traditional Swedish meatballs, lingonberries & potato mash (puree) and the most succulent steak of the week, accompanied by delicious chunky cut chips.
Apparently, breakfast and lunch are also on offer and Nybrogatan 38 is open from early morning till late. Its relaxed, serves great Scandinavia and the Mediterranean inspired food, in good portions and all at affordable prices, we like!
