Osteria Locandina Cappello
Via Cappello, 16, 37121 Verona, Italy
An unexpected and welcomed find that we just happened to stumble across whilst exploring the central city lanes of Verona.
The main section of the restaurant inside looked lush but not stiff, feeling like a slightly more mid to top end eating venue, however, there was a more relaxed section, just as you enter the premises through the main entrance, giving the feeling of a more of café/tapas bar vibe. There’s also a few seat out front (where we sat) on cute little wooden tables, in a small but busy lane where you can watch the world go by, great if you like to people watch.
The food was traditional and reliable, offering delicious choices such as fresh meat and seafood salads (the prawn and avocado salad was just delicious) classic pastas (the Spaghetti vongole was perfect & the minced beef ribbon pasta dish was just bursting with flavour). Options of fresh fish and Italian meat dishes were also available with portion sizes just right and local wines (red and white) offered by the glass.
Prices were not super cheap but the quality and the prompt attentive service made it all worth while.
