Melrose Café

Sysslomansgatan 17A, 753 14 Uppsala, Sweden

This new addition to Uppsala’s ever expending food scene, this comfortable and contemporary café/bar/restaurant has already become an instant hit with those local in the know

Only just opened this summer season, this place has got a very promising future. The menu is small but the choices are perfect, offering a selection of beautiful super-sized and super fresh salads, tasty home-made pies, delicious Swedish sandwiches and an extensive choice of all of the traditional cakes and more.

Melrose is perfect for that well deserved Fika break (Coffee and cake) a light lunch or even a light dinner in the evening, accompanied by a small choice of good quality wines and beers but we have to give a big shout-out to their amazingly proportioned and equally tasting prawn salad, which was to die for, just make it your first choice!

We noted the outdoor terrace area is open from March to October, however, the indoor space was equally inviting with contemporary fixtures, huge windows letting in lots of light and both more formal and super relaxed seating areas to suit all choices.

You will find Melrose situated in the upmarket area of Luthagen, which is very close to the main city centre, Melrose is a cert to be a hit, so visit whilst you can before the word gets out to all.
