Konditori Fågelsången

Munkgatan 3, 753 09 Uppsala, Sweden

An Uppsala classic! You will find Konditori Fågelsången located right in the centre of Uppsala’s town, situated literally right below Uppsala’s beautiful and powerful slott (Castle) sat opposite the central swan pond and green, this traditional and very popular café is probably the most famous fika pit stop in town.

Open since 1954, nothing much has changed (in a good way) whether you choose to sit indoors or out (there’s a large front terrace) this place still packs them in for the best choice of cake, sandwiches, desserts and ice cream the town has to offer and they even do breakfast.

Freshly baked goods are created and delivered from the cafés own bakery every single day, there’s great coffee & a wide selection of teas (with unlimited free top-ups) and if you don’t want something sweet to accompany your hot drink there’s always a choice from their extensive sandwiches menu.

Service is good; quality is excellent, interiors are simple (in a Swedish way) and the atmosphere is relaxed, all part of the reason why this place remains an institution, it’s not hard to see why!
