Cortile Di Bacco

Via Roma, 120, 96100 Siracusa SR, Italy

Great secluded courtyard restaurant and bar found by popping down a little narrow passage in-between two traditional Ortigia private houses.

The restaurant space is split into 3 eating areas, 2 are indoors & the 3rd is the courtyard in the middle.

Exceptionally good classic flavoured Italian food, various homemade fresh pasta dishes, fresh fish (of the day) a selection of grilled meats, risottos and a bevy of delicious desserts were all on offer. Upon ordering the fish of the day I noticed it was cooked in what was known locally as "crazy water," when I enquired as to what it was, the waiter explained it was a delicious combination of water, wine and garlic, and served with delicious Sicilian cherry tomatoes, well it was just that! And it was beautifully helped along nicely with an ice cold Rose from their extensive and reasonably priced wine list that didn’t disappoint either.

A great little find tucked away off one of the old town lanes, keep your eyes peeled it’s so worth it
