Sysslomansgatan 14, 753 11 Uppsala, Sweden

Located in a great position in a lovely green corner of the city, this modern Italian grill sits under the many columns of Alvar Aalto's (famous Finnish architect) 1961 central Uppsala’s iconic building.

Standards are high here and the attention to detail is precise. An Italian grill that’s earned its place in the city as one of the must visit places to eat.

Designed as a tribute to Aalto’s love of Italy and all things renaissance the décor might not be to everyone’s taste but the food was delicious, offering classic Italian dishes, straight from the charcoal grill, with meats, seafood and all of the Italian classics ready for the picking. Don’t worry, you won’t go home from Aaltos hungry.

Of course, there is prosecco, Italian wines and quality grappa all on offer and if you weren’t already feeling like you were sipping on a nice glass of bubbles on a Roma terrace, then Aaltos large and beautiful terrace overlooking a lovely tree lines park should bring it home for you.
