1 Quai Turenne, 44000 Nantes, France
Sat facing the Quai de Turenne, close to Feydeau square, this great little French restaurant and bar is in the perfect central location.
Papy Mougeot is a cool, edgy and contemporary trail blazer, small and colourful, creative and fun that’s ideal for the hipster to the foodie.
With a decor that will have you mesmerised for at least ten minutes or until you have at least walked the circumference of the 360 degrees bar (complete with its own swing!) you will smile from ear to ear at the eclectic and contemporary 1960s retro Ska theme.
With its centre piece of bright yellow bicycles suspended from the ceiling, its long open tables and bench and stool areas looking out onto the Quai, you will feel at home as soon as you walk through the door.
The food was ‘all’ outstanding, created by Chefs that really know their stuff, especially the Baby Camembert with crusty French bread, which was exceptional and the crispy roasted duck breast, cooked to perfection and probably one of the best we have ever had!
A must if ever in Nantes, vibrant, cool, fun with exceptional food, what’s not to like and don’t forget to pop into the unisex toilet, a little room exploding with fun, vintage album covers, cool retro vinyl discs and if you want, you can even watch a bit of old school telly at the same time!
And don’t forget to say goodbye to the lovely, attentive and friendly staff, who knows you may even get as nice little surprise on your way out!
